We’re incredibly lucky to have Dr. James Chatterton leading our veterinary department at Auckland Zoo!
We sat down with James to discuss his time at the Zoo, the importance of conservation medicine, and being able to contribute to the survival of endangered species such as takahē and kākāpō.
“Working within zoo and wildlife medicine there are huge problems ahead of us, but our job is to see those problems and to develop solutions and I think we can – here at Auckland Zoo, within New Zealand and around the world, we can all work together – often the best solutions need vets, wildlife biologists and in the human medical field to all collaborate,” explains James.
Follow along with our posts today as we celebrate more of our veterinary team for #WorldVeterinaryDay! If you’d like to see more videos from our centenary series, you can watch them here – http://www.youtube.com/playlist….
